Content Strategist

The position:
Skyword is seeking an energetic, experienced self-starter to support one or more of our clients’ content marketing programs. Employee will work with a Senior Content Strategist to ensure delivery of all client deliverables, manage a team of freelance writers, oversee the client relationship and orchestrate other company resources to meet our clients’ goals.  By joining Skyword, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a fast growing organization with significant opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities:

• Work with a Senior Content Strategist to deliver content marketing programs for one or more of Skyword’s clients
• Help clients formulate their content strategy
• Manage a team of freelance writers that will produce original, exclusive online content for our clients’ websites
• Manage keywords and topical assignments to writers
• Review copyedited content to ensure established content standards and brand voice
• Support Skyword’s Writer Services team in the recruitment and training of writers
• Build solid client relationships
• Identify opportunities to expand the client relationship and drive contract renewals
• Train clients to use the Skyword platform
• Provide clients with ongoing reporting, strategic recommendations and advice
• Ensure delivery of monthly program goals
• Work internally, across departments, to deliver compelling solutions for our clients

Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field
• 2-4 years relevant business experience a plus
• Proven track record of success
• Experience in client/customer management a plus
• Active in social media
• Experience with online content and SEO a plus
• Experience managing writers a plus
• Solid references

Requirements:

• Position is based in Boston; occasional travel required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellence in spelling and grammar
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to take responsibility and consistently exceed objectives
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks on deadline
• Able to run meetings effectively
• A positive attitude and professional demeanor is essential along with the flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Able to work individually on a project and in a team environment
• Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
